
Frettenham Parish Council Vacancy

Frettenham Parish Council seeks a Clerk to the Council and Responsible Financial Officer, ideally with experience in a similar role but this is not essential as support and training will be provided as necessary. Good local knowledge would be welcomed.
Duties of the clerk will include, but are not limited to, minute taking and agenda creating for monthly meetings, corresponding with members of the public and appropriate organisations, maintaining all financial records including preparing an annual audit and end-of-year accounts, and other admin tasks. The clerk is the advisor to the council, giving advice on legal, procedural and financial matters.
Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate is required to be a well organised, reliable, team player who can maintain good communicative skills, prioritising and completing tasks in an efficient, time motivated manner. The successful candidate will be working as part of a team alongside the Parish Council, working alongside the Chair and the Councillors to ensure all matters are dealt with in a smooth, efficient manner.
This role is ideal for an existing Clerk to the Council wishing to take on the responsibility of another Parish.
Frettenham Parish Council holds public meetings every month (excluding December) on the second Friday at 7pm.
Essential:
Good IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Good English language skills to aid with the creation of minutes, agendas and correspondence with a range of parties.
Self-motivated and time conscious
Able to correspond and provide up-to-date documents for the website.
Confident at liaising with professional bodies such as Norfolk County Council and South Norfolk and Broadland District Council
Desirable:
Knowledge of online systems, such as online banking
Salary and hours:
Hours: average 6 per week
Salary: Negotiated in accordance with qualifications and experience
