We are looking for an experienced administrator to take on this role with effect from 01 January 2022. The post is home based for 16 hours per week. A laptop is provided, a printer can be supplied if required. Salary to be agreed dependent on experience and qualifications (within the National Joint Council for Local Government Services pay scale). 25 days paid annual leave pro rata.

Main duties include:

  • Arranging, publicising and attending one Council meeting each month at Marham Village Hall, or via Zoom.

  • Preparing agendas, meeting documentation and minutes

  • Acting as RFO to the Council, manage the Council finances, including budget preparation, payment of invoices, reclaiming VAT and preparing and submitting end of year accounts

  • Managing HMRC PAYE (Basic Tools)

  • Maintaining all Council records and managing Council assets

  • Dealing with correspondence, including liaison with local organisations, members of the public, Borough and County Councils

  • Monitoring and updating the Council on planning matters

  • Ensuring Council is compliant with current legislation and procedures by informing and advising the Council and maintaining up to date policies, processes and risk assessments.

Candidates with relevant previous experience and the Certificate in Local Council Administration (or higher) are preferred.
