Vacancy at Briningham Parish Council

Briningham Parish Council is looking to appoint a Parish Clerk who is reliable, well organised, and with good interpersonal skills.


Briningham is a small Parish in North Norfolk, with a Parish Council consisting of five Councillors representing the interests of 100 residents. The Council usually meets four times a year in our Village Hall. The Council are ideally seeking an experienced Clerk. The post is for 3 hours per week. Pay will be at an hourly rate in accordance with the official scale dependent on qualifications and experience. The post will begin on 1st November 2021.


The job entails taking minutes of meetings, handling correspondence, dealing with the Council’s finances, advising the Council on its statutory and legal role, looking after parish council general administration, and working closely with the Chair whilst supporting the Councillors to ensure the smooth running of the Council.


We are looking for applicants with:

  • Sound current IT skills

  • Ability to provide accurate and timely updates to the village website 

  • Self-motivation to ensure that necessary work is prioritised and completed in a timely manner, with good attention to detail

  • Effective communication skills
