STOW BEDON AND BRECKLES PARISH COUNCIL (BRECKLAND)
Stow Bedon and Breckles Parish Council are looking for a person who is interested in working with their Parish Councillors in the role of Parish Clerk and Responsible Financial Officer. The post becomes vacant from the beginning of March 2024
Currently the position is for five hours a week, home working. Parish Council Meetings take place six times a year in the evenings in a warm Village Hall.
It would be good if the applicant has some experience, is well motivated, as well as having positive communication skills, both oral and written, competent IT skills are also required.
Responsibilities will include:
Organising and attending Parish Council Meetings.
Circulating relevant information and documentation to Councillors.
Writing agendas and minutes.
Actioning Council decisions.
Responding to correspondence and e mails.
Posting information on the website and Parish Noticeboards.
Booking the Village Hall for meetings
Advising the Council
Monitoring Planning Applications, circulating information to Councillors and responding in a timely manner to Planning Applications, as well as communication with Case Officers where needed.
Liaising with Councillors, including District and County Councillors.
Updating the Parish website and all required documentation.
Acting as the Councils Responsible Financial Officer
Reporting and presenting financial reports to the Councillors
Paying invoices and annual budget preparation, reclaiming VAT
Preparing and presenting accounts for Audit.
Salary is paid on NJC scales according to experience, with home working allowance paid as well as expenses.
