This seminar will focus on employment issues and Governance/Standards/Legal issues for Parish & Town Councils

The day will include:

Morning session entitled 'Managing people, HR myths and challenges'

Rebekah Rayner, a Human Resource consultant, will discuss key employment legislation that all councils need to be aware of.  She will dispel some common myths about employment references, criminal convictions, disciplinary procedures and discuss managing short term persistent absence.  Rebekah will finish with a question and answer session: attendees will be given the opportunity via a pre-seminar questionnaire to 'health-check' their councils and ask those questions that are keeping them awake at night!

Networking lunch including opportunity to talk to Di, Julie and Luisa and 'nobble' any of our associates:

Rebekah Rayner, Human Resources Consultant

Rachel Leggett, Neighbourhood Planning consultant

David Johnson, Solicitor at nplaw

Steve Jackman, Website developer

Afternoon session entitled 'Getting to grips with Governance, Standards and legal issues'

David Johnson, a solicitor with many years' experience in local government (including as a monitoring officer), will talk about key governance issues, the Code of Conduct (declarations of interest), information law and highlight some common legal issues that parish councils often face.  He will finish with a question and answer session covering any of these topics.

Can your council afford to miss a dedicated day of topics that councils so often struggle to understand fully?
