IT'S ALL ABOUT RISK!
Identifying risk and establishing ways of reducing that risk is a main part of our work in any size of council. It is also a legal requirement that we do this. This session will cover the detail of a risk management policy to take account of the range of risks councils face - from public money to council activities.
We take a look at insurance, health and safety risks and financial risks for projects. There is an overview of policies and regulations which should be in place to support risk management.
This course is recommended for all officers of local councils, and one which supports the duties you have in the governance of your council.

Risk management in practise - health and safety risk assessments and inspection records
Financial risk management – good governance and reporting
