ICO fine an individual

The ICO have recently fined a Charity Worker for copying personal data to his home computer.  The data transferred was a name, telephone number, medical details and date of birth. This was done without the knowledge of the Data Protection Officer for the Charity.


This information was not only personal data but sensitive personal data.


Personal information must be handled properly. Anyone holding information needs to have

a valid legal reason for doing so.
