'THE ESSENTIAL UPDATE' - ONE-DAY SEMINAR

This seminar will focus on key topics of interest to Parish & Town Councils: The new audit rules for 2018 onwards; Bullying & harassment;

Responding to planing applications; and an Update on new data protection rules.

The day will include:

Morning

'The new rules for 2018 audit'

Kerry Cutting, a senior member of PKF Littlejohn (the new external auditor for 2018 onwards), will discuss common external audit issues from 2016-17 and outline the new documentation and routine for 2017-18, along with fees & charges and how to contact them when you have any questions.

'Dealing with bullying and harassment'

Rebekah Rayner, a Human Resource consultant, will discuss common issues associated with bullying and harassment and how to deal with such issues when they arise.

Networking lunch including opportunity to talk to Di, Julie and Luisa and 'nobble' our associates: Rebekah Rayner, Human Resources Consultant and Steve Jackman, Website developer and our other speakers.

Afternoon

'Planning: How to get your voice heard'

Adam Banham, a Planning Officer at Broadland District Council, will talk about how to approach writing a good response to planning applications, discussing 'material considerations' and how to ensure your council's response is professional.

'Data Protection update'

Whether or not you've attended one of our data protection training sessions, you'll still want to hear an update on how the new regulation is developing prior to introduction in May 2018.  Norfolk PTS tutors will update you on the latest news from the Information Commissioner's Office and make it relevant for town and parish councils.

Can your council afford to miss a dedicated day of topics that councils so often struggle to understand fully?

Speakers obviously well conversed in their topics.

Many thanks for the day - much appreciated.

Taking lots of advice and information away with me.

It gave me a strong feeling of confidence in the way my council is run.

Very informative and stimulating.

Excellent.
