Are you an expert at using Word and Excel, or could you benefit from some 1-2-1 training from a tutor?
Are you concerned about how you'll meet the new Accessibility laws that come into force in September 2020 and that require you to make your documents Accessible?
Norfolk PTS can provide you with short training sessions from our associate Helen Fooks who has experience of working with people at all skill levels and on different versions of Word and Excel.
For those of you who want to expand your knowledge further, we have also devised two additional sessions for those who wish to learn more: Further Word, and Excel the Fundamentals.
This course is recommended for all clerks and staff who work with Word or Excel, and are responsible for documents that will be used on the council's website.

Styles and headings
Saving files as an Accessible PDF (PDF/A format)
During the training, we will work on your last set of minutes, and one of your policy documents. You can work through these documents to make them website accessible.
Course content - Further Word
If you are already familiar with the fundamentals of Word, and already happy making structured and Accessible documents, this session will take your skills on to the next level, working with tables, pictures, table of contents and more.
Course content - Excel fundamentals
This session will cover the essential fundamentals of using Excel - making Excel do the calculations for you, getting different sheets to work together, formatting your spreadsheet and producing good-looking charts and graphs within your data to revolutionise how your councillors can view and understand the council's finances.
When & where
The training will be 1-2-1 sessions and will be online - usually 1.5 hours. Sessions can be arranged with the trainer at a convenient time between both parties.

Helen will send you an email link that will allow you to share your screen with her, so that she can see what you're doing. You'll be able to see and hear Helen on screen as she talks you through the lesson. The pace and complexity of the lesson will be tailored to suit your needs and experience.
