NORFOLK PTS

Are you new to clerking and would like to gain knowledge and confidence? Is this something that you have been thinking about for a while now?

The Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) is a level 3 qualification for officers of parish and town councils (and we've taught a few councillors over the years)!  Gaining the qualification is one of the two eligibility criteria for your council to be able to adopt the Power of General Competence.

Six sessions held once a month will take you through each of the 30 learning outcomes, explain how to compile your portfolio and provide you with ongoing mentoring to ensure you complete the qualification. We recommend that you have had around 12 months' experience working in the sector and have undertaken induction training as a minimum.

Is the Norfolk PTS tutor an experienced clerk and trainer?
Yes and yes!  Julie King has been a clerk since 2005 working for several councils during this time. She is an experienced local council tutor and partner of Norfolk PTS. Julie explains topics knowledgeably and clearly, with years of wisdom from being a practising clerk herself.

When and where?
Our next course starts in September and will run monthly on Thursday mornings at The Costessey Centre, just west of Norwich. If you are unable to travel to some or all of the sessions, there will be the ability to connect remotely.

How much?
The fee is £280 for subscribing councils and £350 for non-subscribing councils.
